He slowly got out of bed and crept toward the bedroom door. He could hear voices, but he couldn’t quite make out who he was hearing, speaking in his home.
He decided to investigate, not knowing that he was making a terrible decision.

The concerned man crept down the hallway and toward the living room. But as he got closer, the voices grew louder.
Finally, he reached the doorway and peeked into the living room. He could see Alice, but he couldn’t see who was standing in front of her.
“I just need some more,” she said. “I have always wanted to have a big family. I am chosen. I’m sure I’m ready for the next one,” He heard the chilling words leave Alice’s mouth. His blood ran cold.
Unbelievable
He was shocked to his core when he heard those words. What on earth was Alice talking about? The last time they had discussed the matter, he mentioned not wanting any more children. Something wasn’t adding up.
His heart was racing in his chest. Something just didn’t feel right about what was happening inside of their home.
But who on earth was she speaking to? Worried sick, he peeked again, and that was when he saw the person’s face.

“Dillian is in bed. He’s very ill. I think it would be best if we left him to sleep in. Don’t you think, doctor?” she said, her voice sweet as never before. She was lying without flinching. This made Dillian’s heart race.
Was he supposed to go out there and confront her in front of the doctor?
But just then, as he considered his options, Dillian accidentally bumped a photo frame from the wall, sending it crashing to the ground.
Revealing Himself
The second the frame hit the floor, sending shards of glass flying across the hallway, Alice and the doctor turned to face Dillian. He paused in place, staring wide-eyed at them. They had caught him eavesdropping.

Dillian swallowed loudly and took a step closer. He didn’t know what he was supposed to tell the doctor with Alice right there. “Uh, well-” He stumbled over his words, trying to find the right words to say. Alice was staring at him, her face pallid.
She knew that he had heard everything she said, from his alleged sickness to where he stood on the issue of kids.
Dillian gave her a knowing look. He was not happy about the situation. But this was about to go from bad to worse for him.
