Trying To Make Him Happy
She was getting ready for their date and was anxious about looking good for him. He was very selective about the woman he dated, and she wanted to make the right impression.

She changed her outfit numerous times before she was happy with how she looked. He was a difficult man, and she wanted to please him.
A Picky Guy
As a sports manager in New Jersey, Marc was often in the spotlight, and he found this difficult at times. He was a meticulous planner and had his whole life mapped out.

He was not very enthusiastic when his girlfriend, Jenny, suggested that they go to a basketball game. He had been picking the wrong women for too long, and he had hoped it would be different this time.
Doing The Right Thing
Jenny was 30 years old, and she worked in publishing. She wasn’t really a sports fan, and Marc would much rather have gone out with his friends than to a basketball game. However, he wanted to do something nice for Jenny.

Marc could come across as cold, and he was making a conscious effort to change that. He knew Jenny wanted a normal date, and he got two tickets to the game for them.
Courtside Tickets
Because of his job, Marc was able to get excellent seats at a Lakers game. They were right next to the court, where they could see all the action and feel the excitement along with the players.

Jenny wanted it to be a normal date, but Marc was worried that he would run into someone he knew. He did not want to be seen on this date.
Date Night
When they got to their seats, Jenny was excited to see how close they were to the court. "Marc, this is incredible! How did you manage to get these seats?" she exclaimed.

The air was buzzing with excitement, and Marc enjoyed watching Jenny’s reaction. She was a smart, good-looking woman, and he liked how enthusiastic she was.
The Big Game
"Ah, just a little bit of magic," he replied to Jenny’s excited exclamation. However, the truth was that it took quite a bit of effort to secure the tickets.

He kept his cap tilted over his eyes as the game began. It was a home game for the Lakers, and there was a lot at stake, so it was bound to be an exciting game.
Excitement In The Air
The excitement was palpable in the air as the game picked up pace. The crowd roared at every move as the players fought for the ball.

Despite Marc’s reluctance to go to the game in the first place, he was getting sucked into the energy and excitement of the game. He was so interested in the game that he wasn’t paying much attention to Jenny.
Not What She Wanted
Marc was engrossed in the riveting game and how close they were to all the action. The Lakers were playing their old foe, and there was great excitement in the air.

Jenny tried to speak to Marc, but she was careful not to annoy him. She wasn’t sure whether he would rather just watch the game without talking.
Engrossed In The Game
Because Jenny had wanted to go to the game, Marc got the court-side tickets, but he would rather have been watching it with one of his buddies.

Jenny noticed that Marc was very quiet and tried to draw him out by offering home some of her snacks. He would take them but remain silent, all of his attention focused on the game.
Trying To Talk To Him
The Lakers were dominating the game on their home turf, and Marc was sucked into the excitement all around him. This is what he does for a living, and he couldn’t help but be engrossed.

Even though this was a weekend date with his girlfriend, Marc felt like he was working and didn’t pay much attention to Jenny.
Being A Sport
Jenny, on the other hand, was thrilled beyond measure. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she took in the court and the surrounding sea of fans. The roar of the crowd and the anticipation of the game ahead overwhelmed her.

She nudged Marc, her enthusiasm bubbling over. "Can you believe we're so close to the action? This is incredible!" She stood up, trying to get Marc to check her out in her new sweater.
Hard To Be Real
Marc had a shrewd grin as he ogled Jenny. "Enjoy the game," he muttered, secretly wishing he was with one of his buddies instead. He wasn’t in the mood to entertain her advances.

The Lakers game was a big deal, and their seats were just a few rows from the court—a place usually reserved for fanatics. He rarely got a chance to attend games because he was always in the background organizing the administration.
He Won’t Open Up
Jenny continued talking. Marc, ever the pragmatic one, nodded but couldn't help but glance longingly at the guys in the row behind them, high-fiving and joking.

The game continued, and both were absorbed in the intense plays on the court. The Lakers fought fiercely, and the score teetered on the edge. Who would win the match?
Loosening Up
As the final minutes approached, the Lakers surged ahead, securing victory on their home turf. The crowd erupted in cheers, and Marc, despite himself, found a smile creeping onto his face.

He turned to Jenny, who was jumping with joy. "I guess this was worth it," he admitted, giving her a shoulder nudge. She was confused and smiled. At least he was talking to her now.
A Basketball Tradition
During the halftime show, the kiss cam lit up the massive screen. Couples around them laughed and shared affectionate moments. It was a basketball tradition.

Marc, not one for public displays of affection, shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Jenny, however, seized the opportunity, pointing at the screen as it focused on them. Would he kiss his date?
A Nudge From Above
Jenny smiled in happiness. This was just the kind of push she needed. She put her arm around Marc and pointed towards the screen.

"Look, Marc! We're on the kiss cam!" she exclaimed, a wide grin stretching across her face. She turned to him, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Come on, give me a kiss. It's all in good fun!"
Why Me
The sober man looked shocked. He was stunned for a moment. He turned his face away so that nobody would see him. Jenny tried to get closer to him.

But Marc, his discomfort evident, chuckled nervously and turned away. "Nah, that's not really our thing," he mumbled, avoiding eye contact. Why didn’t he want to kiss Jenny?
A Rejected Woman
Jenny's enthusiasm faded into hurt. She tried to coax him, "Come on, Marc, it's just for fun. Don't be so serious all the time."

She poked his arm as her playfulness turned to pain. Why was he being so cold towards her? It was all in the spirit of good fun. She heard a few ladies behind her laughing. Marc was making a fool out of her.
Putting Her On The Spot
Jenny persisted once more. “People are watching Marc; we’re probably on the TV in front of thousands of viewers right now,” she said, annoyed.

He shook his head, resisting. "I'd rather not," he replied, his eyes fixed on the game as if trying to escape the moment. But the videographer kept his camera locked onto the unaffectionate couple. He wanted to capture the drama.
Center Of Attention
The arena lights dimmed, plunging them into suspenseful darkness. A spotlight shone on the couple. The crowd hushed for a moment, anticipating the second half.

Jenny, though, felt a pang of disappointment. Was Marc embarrassed by her? Did he not want to be seen with her in this crowd? Even the guy taking the video urged them to kiss.
Just Not Their Time
Half-time arrived, and the kiss cam flickered to life on the jumbotron. Couples shared quick pecks, eliciting laughter from the audience. But Marc couldn’t do it.

Jenny's eyes widened as she spotted herself on the big screen. Excited, she nudged Marc, pointing at their reflection. Marc chuckled nervously and turned away. He didn’t want to kiss her.
Pushing Her Luck
Feeling embarrassed Jenny leaned in to try and peck Marc's lips. But he pulled back and pulled his cap over his face.

"Come on, babe, let's give them a show," Jenny teased, leaning in for a kiss. Marc resisted, and the hurt was written all over Jenny's face. Why was he rejecting her in public?
Will He Or Won't He
As the second half began, the tension in the air lingered. Marc tried to focus on the game, but he couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that had settled between them.

Little did he know, the night was far from over, and the emotional score between him and Jenny was about to take an unexpected turn. The spotlight lingered on the couple, and the upbeat music played, trying to get a kiss from the crowd.
Crying In The Crowd
Jenny was hurt, and she wanted to make Marc feel what she was feeling. Not one to be a loser on the big screen, she turned to the guy next to her.

He smiled at her knowingly. He was cute and seemed like a decent person. It was a weird spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. And then an idea struck Jenny.
There Is Hope
Jenny smiled at the guy with a Fanta Orange next to her. "Hey, wanna kiss?" she asked with a mischievous grin.

The guy, Marcus, raised an eyebrow and nodded, playing along. They shared a quick, playful kiss, and the crowd erupted into cheers at the spontaneous gesture. The audience finally got what they wanted. What would happen next?
He Watched It
As this happened, Marc turned his face in horror. A few guys around pointed at him and laughed. Jenny had made a fool out of him.

Marc's face contorted with anger. "What the hell, Jenny?" he hissed, embarrassed by the boos from the audience. He got up abruptly and stormed out, leaving Jenny bewildered in her seat. Would she run after him?
A Date Change
Unfazed by Marc's reaction, Jenny turned to her neighbor, who was funnily named Marcus, a smirk playing on her lips. "Well, that was unexpected," she quipped, brushing off the awkwardness.

The guy smiled at her and said her date was a jerk. Jenny thanked him for being her knight in shining armor. Was this the start of something new?
I Feel You
Marcus chuckled, "I didn't expect to be part of a halftime show either." They started chatting, finding a strange connection amid the chaotic atmosphere.

The match continued. The audience continued to cheer, unaware of the brewing tension. Jenny enjoyed the rest of the game with her new friend. Would Marc come back, or was he gone for good?
Losing His Own Battle
Meanwhile, Marc paced the concourse, seething with embarrassment and anger. The night that was supposed to be about basketball turned into a bizarre public spectacle.

He was waiting for his car to come around. Luckily, he didn’t see any of his colleagues as he left the basketball stadium. He was hurt and angry; mostly, he felt like he was used.
A New Fling
The Lakers won the match, and Jenny and Marcus celebrated together. The new pair decided to go out for drinks afterward. Jenny was comfortable with him even though they just met.

As Jenny and Marcus laughed in their seats, the suspense lingered—what would come next in this unexpected drama?
