Man Is Denied Service At Bloomingdale’s Because Of Clothes, Comes Back The Next Day

Unbelievable

Alan couldn’t believe how he was being treated. The woman stared at him, her eyebrow raised in displeasure as she looked down the bridge of her nose at him. It was clear that she didn’t think he belonged in her store.

But she had no idea who he was. Alan was about to teach the awful woman a valuable lesson.

A smirk played on his lips as he stared right back at her. She was about to regret ever messing with him.

Chores

It was supposed to be a good day. When Alan awoke that morning, he had a set schedule for his busier-than-usual day.

First, he would have to drop some clothes off at the drycleaners, then, he wanted to get himself a few nice shirts for work.

He planned to run into Bloomingdale’s for no longer than twenty minutes, but he had no idea that his day would take a terrible turn in that store.

His Intention

The trip to the drycleaners was over in the blink of an eye. All in all, Alan expected the day to run smoothly.

When he pulled up to Bloomingdale’s, he simply wanted to update his wardrobe for work.

Alan left his car and confidently entered the store, unaware of what was to come. His intention wasn’t to cause any trouble, but that all changed when he was met by an obnoxious employee.

Pricey

The man was slowly walking through the aisles in search of formal shirts for work.

He’d worn most of his shirts out, and although these were particularly pricey, he knew their quality made them worth the price.

But as he ventured down the aisle, grabbing a few shirts to try on in the dressing room, he was unaware of the blue eyes that followed his every move.

Watching Him

The second he walked through the door, the young woman had her eyes on him.

She couldn’t understand why someone like him would come into the store thinking he could afford anything they sold.

She watched as he approached the dressing room, wondering if he was going to try and steal any of the shirts he’d draped over his arms. Something terrible was about to happen.

Unaware

Alan was minding his business, trying on shirt after shirt. He was unaware of the woman who was waiting right outside of the dressing room, waiting for him to come out so that she could confront him.

Before long, Alan decided on the shirts that he thought looked best.

He planned to pay for his new shirts, and then he would meet up with his wife for a quick lunch. But little did he know that his plans were about to change.

She Approached Him

The second Alan stepped out of the dressing room, the young woman approached with her nose in the air.

Alan barely paid her any attention, until she stopped right before him.

Without a second thought, she took the shirts from his hands and placed them on a shelf beside him. “Please leave, sir. We only help people who can afford our clothes,” She said. Alan instantly saw red.

The Luckiest Man

Born and raised in Manhattan, New York, Alan Ross had always considered himself the luckiest man alive.

When he was in his twenties, he married the love of his life, Catherine, and together, they started their own family.

For all his life, Alan had promised himself that someday, he would work hard enough to give his wife and children the best of the best, and that was exactly what he did.

The CEO

Alan was in his mid-thirties when he became the CEO of one of the most successful companies in New York.

For years he’d worked himself to the bone to land this position, and finally, all of that hard work paid off.

Catherine was in tears when he shared the life-changing news with his family. After years of working to help support her family, Catherine could finally stop.

Financial Freedom

With Alan’s new job came a lot of financial freedom, more than he knew what to do with. But Alan had never been the flashy type. He bought his family a beautiful home and put his children into the best schools in town.

But he never made it clear just how much money they had. Alan wasn’t the type to brag about that sort of thing.

He still wore his casual jeans and t-shirts around town. But one day, that would change.

A Realization

Before Alan knew it, he was in his mid-forties and business was booming more than ever before.

One morning, as the middle-aged man searched through his closet, looking for a formal shirt to wear to work, he realized something.

All of his work clothes were old and beginning to look rather dated and raggedy. He sighed to himself. Although he didn’t like shopping, he knew it was time for a new wardrobe.

Too Busy

But Alan’s week was far too busy. He didn’t have the time to go shopping for himself. He decided to put it off until that weekend. He had a bunch of chores to tend to anyway.

That Friday night, he wrote a list of all the things he would have to do that Saturday.

But luckily, he had something to look forward to, which was lunch with his wife. But sadly for Alan, his Saturday morning would not go according to plan.

Getting Ready

It was supposed to be a good day. When Alan awoke that Saturday morning, he instantly shot up from bed and got himself ready for the day ahead.

There was nothing he enjoyed more than a productive Saturday morning.

He shaved his beard and brushed his teeth before getting dressed. As usual, he slid into a casual pair of jeans and a plain blue t-shirt. He had no idea that someone would have a problem with that.

The First Stop

His first stop that morning was the dry cleaners, but he was there for no longer than fifteen minutes. He expected all of his stops to run as smoothly.

But the second Alan pulled up in front of the Bloomingdale’s, something didn’t feel right.

He didn’t know what it was, but he felt hesitant to go inside. If only he had chosen a different store.

It Would Be Fine

Alan pushed this feeling to the side as he stepped out of his car. He told himself that it would be fine. All he had to do was buy a few new shirts. Surely nothing could go wrong, right?

Alan quickly made his way into the store, which was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday morning.

But as he walked through the aisles, he was unaware of the woman watching his every move.

She Noticed

As soon as he entered the store, the woman noticed him. Her face held a permanent frown as she watched him walk along the aisles.

Her eyes lingered on his casual, worn clothes.

She couldn’t understand why someone like him would come into the store thinking he could afford anything they had on their shelves. She didn’t trust him.

Minding His Business

Alan minded his own business as he grabbed a few formal shirts from the shelves.

He wanted to try them on in the dressing room, but he had no idea what would happen once he stepped out.

The woman watched as he approached the dressing room, wondering if he was going to try and steal any of the shirts he’d draped over his arms. But, something terrible was about to happen.

Unaware

Alan was minding his business, trying on shirt after shirt.

He was unaware of the woman who was standing right outside of the dressing room, waiting for him to come out so that she could confront him.

Alan was pleased to find two shirts that fit him perfectly. He glanced at their price tags. How could anyone charge this much for a shirt?

His Plans

But that didn’t matter. Alan knew he could afford them. Alan grabbed the shirts that he thought looked best.

He couldn’t wait to show Catherine on their lunch date.

He planned to pay for his new shirts before heading to a cafe near the store. But little did he know that his plans were about to change.

He Didn’t Notice Her

He left the dressing room with the shirts in hand, but as soon as he stepped out, the woman approached with her nose in the air.

At first, Alan barely noticed her, until she stopped right in front of him.

He thought she was going to offer her assistance, or maybe carry his shirts to the checkout. But just then, she did something he would never forget.

Harsh

She had a harsh expression on her face as she grabbed the shirts from his grasp and placed them on a shelf beside him.

Alan was confused. What on earth was going on?

That was when the young woman said something that instantly made his blood boil. “Please leave, sir. We only help people who can afford our clothes,” She said.

Unbelievable

At first, Alan thought it was a joke. He couldn’t believe that anyone could be so rude. “Excuse me, ma’am?” He asked, clearly confused by what was going on.

But the woman’s harsh expression didn’t change. She folded her arms across her chest and stared at him disapprovingly.

“You heard me, get out of here,” She said.

Why?

Alan was at a loss for words. Why on earth did the woman think he couldn’t afford the shirts, and why was she being so rude about it? He was baffled as he stared at her with wide eyes.

Never in his life had he experienced anything like this before.

He decided to reach for the shirts and began walking toward the register, but the woman wouldn’t have it.

Agitated And Annoyed

“Hey, you put those down!” She yelled and followed him toward the register.

But she was unaware that she was messing with the wrong man. Alan was becoming increasingly agitated and annoyed.

“Ma’am, please back off so that I can pay for these shirts and go home,” He said in a calm voice, but she wouldn’t listen. She interrupted him.

Judgment

“Sir, there is a Walmart across the street. They will help you, but for now, we cannot help you here,” She spoke, her voice laced with judgment.

Alan was beyond baffled as he looked around himself. Fellow employees were staring, but no one said a thing.

No one was sticking up for him against the woman’s bizarre claims.

Anger Issues

Alan was starting to get angry. In his younger years, he’d dealt with some anger issues, but after years of therapy, he learned to control his anger.

But this situation was bringing those emotions back to life.

He placed his clothes next to the register and asked the woman behind it to ring them up, but she refused.

They Refused To Help Him

Everyone was staring at him as the woman kept asking him to leave the store. Why on earth were they refusing to help him? He hadn’t done anything wrong, yet no one wanted to help him.

Did they think he was too poor to afford two formal shirts? They had no idea who they were dealing with.

Alan could feel his anger surging. He had to calm down before he did something reckless.

Refusing To Help

He turned back to the woman. “I have plans. Can you please let me buy these shirts so I can leave?” He spoke slowly, his hands shaking in anger.

But the woman simply raised an eyebrow and shook her head.

“There are far more affordable options out there. Please leave our store,” She stood her ground. That was when he finally snapped.

Unlike Him

Alan left his clothes on the register and began approaching the exit, but before he left, he did something that was so unlike him.

Walking up to a shelf of small accessories, he grabbed onto it and pushed it over.

Accessories went flying through the store as the employees around him gasped. “I am the CEO of a very very successful company,” He announced, reaching into his pocket.

They Would Regret It Forever

Everyone watched as he pulled his wallet out and dropped a stack of bills on the floor beside the shelf he had pushed over.

“This should pay for all of that,” He said and walked toward the exit.

That was when the employees began begging him to stay. They apologized again and again, but he wouldn’t have it. He ignored them as he left the store, knowing that they would forever regret turning him down.
