Samantha Whittle had meticulously planned every detail of the gender reveal party for her and her husband, Jeremy.
This was their first baby, and they were over the moon with joy at the imminent arrival of their bundle of joy.
Excitement filled the air as friends and family gathered in their backyard, eager to learn the gender of the baby. However, something would mar the celebrations.
Linda

As soon as Samantha and Jeremy learned that she was expecting their first baby, they couldn’t contain their excitement.

At 16 weeks, Samantha, Jeremy, and Samantha’s sister, Jane, all headed to the OBGYN for Samantha to have the all-important ultrasound. They were both very nervous but excited.
At the end of the ultrasound, the doctor secretly wrote down the gender of the baby and handed the note to Jane.
At that point, Jane was the only one who knew if they were having a girl or a boy.
Planning The Party
In the meantime, Samantha and Jeremy started planning the party, and Jane was in charge of the cake.
Samantha decided that she wanted her and Jeremy to cut into a cake to reveal the gender.
The inside of the cake would either be pink or blue. It would be a simple yet effective gender reveal. Samantha wasn’t one to go all out.
Meddling Mother-In-Law

It was supposed to be an intimate affair with all of their nearest and dearest.

Samantha didn’t know, but all she knew was that her mother-in-law would stop at nothing to be the center of attention.
And if that meant she was going to ruin a party that wasn’t hers, she would do it.
Her Intuition
It was only days away from the gender reveal party, and Samantha just couldn’t shake the feeling that something was going to happen on the day.

“I feel like I have no control over something that’s supposed to be in my control. I was so excited, but I know your mother has something up he sleeve, and I just have this feeling that it’s going to be something really bad,” She said. And she was right.
He Knew
Jeremy felt for the woman he loved. He knew the day mattered more to her than anyone else, and he was no stranger to the things his mother had done in the past.
He loved his mother more than he could put into words, but he wasn’t blind.
Knowing she never approved of his relationship with Samantha, he wouldn’t let that get in the way. She made him happy.
