Note On The Photo
Having entered the dusty barn, Jemma stood looking around.
Although she felt annoyed by what she had gotten compared to her siblings, she suspected there was more to it than she realized.
Her curiosity was piqued when she found the scrawled note on the back of an old photo.

In a show of bravery, Jemma descended the old stairs. Walking down the stairs continued for longer than she had expected. She was deep underground as she walked down the stairs.
Finally, she reached a concrete room. She had to be 15 feet underground.
She had no idea what was in store for her.

An old lightswitch was found by Jemma. Like the one in the barn, she assumed it would be broken. A shower of light greeted her as she flicked it up. In the small room now, she could see what it was for.
As soon as she saw what her father had hidden from the world, she collapsed to her knees.

Adam was nothing like Peter. They got along well and loved each other very much, but Adam just wasn’t cut out for farm work.

He stared directly into her eyes. “What’s the matter, Dad? What are you trying to say? ”
He tried to articulate his words as she asked him.

The same thing happened every day. Upon waking up from his nap, Jemma’s father was delighted to see her. Then he continued to speak.
The man stammered, “B-b-b-bar-.” Jemma couldn’t understand.
He seemed to want to vent about something, but she wasn’t sure what it was.
Exhausting
Jemma knew that her father struggled every day to reach her, and she could see that it weighed heavily on him.
Although he tried his best, Jemma could tell that he wasn’t going to be able to convey his message.
He was exhausted by it.

In a slow voice, he said, “My dear Jemma, look after yourself.
It’s my pleasure to entrust you with something that’s rightly yours. I hope you enjoy it.” he whispered, closing his eyes forever.
He Left It To Her
After a few months, the inheritance was sorted out, and her brothers got the estate while she got something unexpected. The farm was given to her by him. Could it be that she had fond memories of her childhood?
However, it was far less valuable than his estate. As a result, she felt shortchanged.
That’s when she discovered the photo she had been left.
Old Farm Photo
