Sometimes, life can feel difficult or unfair. We don’t always get what we want, but for one woman, that wasn’t good enough for her. She decided to take her fate into her own hands in a most peculiar way.

Emma Tynan is a former stylist from Northern London. After reading a self-help book called “The Secret,” she adopted a strange new mentality. It was one where she felt like she could change her own fate by just changing her way of thinking.

“The Secret” is no secret to the public, as 20 million copies have been sold. The author is a life coach named Rhonda Bryne. The book’s contents have sparked a series of other books and motivational speakers. The mantra that Emma started using was one where if you wish for something with the right attitude, you can have it, no matter what it is.

At the time of reading the book, Emma’s life was far from how she wanted it to be. She said, “I had no idea where I was going in life and had a very self-destructive lifestyle. I was drinking too much, dating the wrong kind of men and eating too much junk food.”

Quitting Her Job

Emma was so unhappy that she decided to do something that took a lot of bravery, she quit her job.

‘While I loved the fashion world, I knew it wasn’t my true purpose in life. It reached a point when I couldn’t go on anymore, and I packed in my job.’

After quitting, she couldn’t pay rent for her apartment and had to give it up. After that, she had to stay at a friend’s place, sleeping on an air mattress.

Emma recalled, “I did some volunteering and took a few odd jobs, and it gave me the space to think.”

Finding Andrew

“I manifested my wish for a husband, getting up at 6.30 am every morning and meditating for ten minutes, wishing and asking, but I didn’t just leave it at that.” Emma continued, “I had a facial, bought new clothes, and started online dating.”

After trying her best to manifest her husband, she went onto a dating app and said she was looking for someone spiritual. That’s where she matched with Andrew, her future husband. The two married happily and never looked back. Maybe there is some truth to Emma’s mantra after all. We hope she gets everything she deserves in life.
