Good relationships are sometimes hard to come by. Don’t lose hope, though. Plenty of other people have found the one, and you’re bound to as well. In the meantime, a user named ulilminxxxpeople on Reddit asked the subreddit TwoXchromosomes to share some of their best “good relationship stories.” Thankfully, the community was happy to oblige.

Morning Ritual

u/AngieJLJL wrote, “My boyfriend and I have a ritual each morning where we lock pinkies, and I say, “Be safe, be good, and try to have a good day” while he says “you too” to each. We also say, “I love you.” We’ve been dating for five years, and I know he’s the one. He’s helped me through my PTSD with touch and with all my mental health ups and downs. We’ve driven each other to be better people, and I love just waking up beside him. He’s made my nightmares begin to disappear, and my cat adores him. He’s been the best partner I could ask for. I’m not saying we don’t fight or have issues, but we always work through them. He’s charming, funny, adorable, creative, and overall wonderful. He spoils me rotten, and I hope to do the same when I have more money. ”

A Kiss On The Forehead

They don’t all have to be long stories. u/EldraziKlap wrote, “I never ever once left home without kissing their forehead.”

A Helpful Partner

u/veronica_deetz wrote, “I’ve been with my husband for almost eight years, and it’s been really fun growling side by side with another person. We’ve both helped each other through COVID-19, ADHD diagnoses, job losses, old trauma, and just general life BS. It’s really nice to feel so safe and secure with someone.”

Curating A Home Together

u/roseabides wrote, “My girlfriend and I just moved in, and we’ve had such a nice time curating our home together. We make decisions thoughtfully and carefully. No matter what the situation, she always strives to make me feel safe, supported, respected, and cared for.”

Sweet In Old Age

u/sonia72quebec wrote, “My parents have been married since 1963. They are 87 and 90 now. Last week my Mom went on vacation at her sister’s home and my Dad cleaned (the best he could) their condo and put a brand new shirt on before she came back. He also made sure she had one day of food already prepared so she didn’t have to do anything for a day so she could rest.”
