Martika Savoy’s life was about to change in the most surprising way. She occasionally bought lottery tickets but hadn’t done so in months. The unsuspecting woman had no idea what was coming her way.

Savoy is a 31-year-old grocery store manager and mother of three who decided to try her luck and walked into the Pisgah General in Charles County. There, she saw what she was looking for: scratch off-tickets. A Maryland Lottery news release said that Savoy stated, “It was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I said ‘why not play today.”

Winning Big

After Savoy scratched off the lottery ticket and saw that she had won big, her reaction spoke for itself. The pregnant mother said that she thought she would have her baby because of the shock of winning. Thankfully, the mother has a heart of gold and said she’ll use the money to help her kids and her baby once they’re delivered.

This story isn’t an isolated one. Across the ocean, a family in Norway had an eerily similar story. Most mothers will tell you that pregnancy alone is like winning the lottery. Welcoming new life into the world has to be a feeling unlike any other.

Another Story

Hege Jeanette, 26, in Norway, has an astounding story. She’s given birth to three children, but something very special has happened every time she’s had a child. Her family somehow wins the lottery every time she gives birth. Is it some kind of cosmic sign? Or just a coincidence?

The first time Hege delivers her firstborn, her father wins the lottery! They had no idea that wouldn’t even be the first time. In 2010, it was Hege’s turn to win after she gave birth to her second child. That’s crazy luck! But it wouldn’t even end there, either. Her brother was the final winner when she gave birth to her third child. But it’s not over yet! When the public found out about the crazy coincidences going on, they were curious.

How Did They Do It?

How was her family pulling this off? Many people suspected that their winning numbers were somehow related to the babies in question. Perhaps they used the babies’ birthdates? But it was later revealed that the entire family had used machine-generated numbers to get their big win!

The family has no one of explaining it, but they don’t have to. We’ll check back with Hege if she has a fourth child, who knows which member will win next?
