A Guide to the Ava Bracelet
Advertisment

If you’re actively trying to become pregnant, you will no doubt have tried all manner of different methods to find out your accurate ovulation window.

Some of these methods are not too far off the mark, whilst others are estimates at best.

There is a new product on the market which boasts serious clinical proof behind it – the Ava Bracelet.

You might have heard of this already, but the Ava Bracelet is an accessory you wear at night when you sleep and it tracks several different key measurements.

It can tell you if you’re ovulating, when you’re likely to be ovulating, the state of your fertility,  and also track your pregnancy statistics.

You can even use the Ava Bracelet when you’re not pregnant and not even trying to be, and you simply want to learn more about your body and the way it works.

What is the Ava Bracelet and What Does it Do?

We’ve just mentioned that this is a bracelet you wear when you sleep. Whilst you’re sleeping, the bracelet will measure the following:

  • Skin temperature at the wrist
  • Resting pulse rate
  • Breathing rate
  • Heart rate variability ratio
  • Perfusion
  • Movement
  • Sleep

All of these measurements provide insights into your ovulation, cycles, and pregnancy.

It’s also quite interesting to learn about these things, whether you’re actively trying to get pregnant or not.

Being aware of your cycle and knowing when your fertile days are will help you if you do decide to try to get pregnant at some point.

Based on the data collected, the Ava Bracelet uses an algorithm to give you key information on your window of fertility, your stress levels, how well you’re sleeping, and many other useful information.

In terms of ovulation, the bracelet can tell you when your fertility window is about to start and accurately predict when it is going to end.

If you are already pregnant, the Ava bracelet can provide you practical information about your overall health.

The bracelet comes with a smartphone app which processes all the data and delivers the information in a way that you can easily understand.

Does The Ava Bracelet Work?

There is a lot of science that explains your temperature changes when you are entering your fertile window, as well as your heart rate at certain times of your cycle.

With the sophisticated algorithm that the bracelet uses, you can get very useful and reliable information, which you probably would not easily access otherwise.

The Ava Bracelet has been FDA registered and it is CE certified.

What you should bear in mind however is that it hasn’t been tested for accuracy for women with PCOS, and in that case, the results might not be the most reliable.

Studies on the bracelet have shown that it can accurately detect 5.3 fertile days in every cycle, on average.

The accuracy level is an impressive 89%, which is more than some ovulation kits on the market.

This, however, depends on the woman having a regular cycle.

As mentioned, the accuracy is less for women whose cycles are less regular, e.g. those with PCOS.

What Are the Specs?

The Ava Bracelet will set you back $299, which makes it quite an expensive investment.

We should point out that women who wear pacemakers should not use this bracelet.

The bracelet comes with in-depth instructions and the USB charging cable.

You also get a booklet tht gives you information on what to look for in the results you will get through your app.

The app itself is available on Android and iOS and is very user-friendly and easy to understand.

You can also easily adjust the bracelet for comfort whilst you’re sleeping.

Is the Ava Bracelet Worth The Money?

We’re heading into personal choice territory here!

The price tag is quite high, so this is not going to be something which every woman can splurge on.

If you’re currently pregnant, perhaps this won’t give you the greatest amount of insight into what is going on in your body. Your midwife or doctor is certainly going to be able to tell you far more!

In that case, perhaps save the $299 and spend it on something more worthwhile for the pending arrival of your bundle of joy.

If however you’re attempting to conceive, or you want to think about starting a family in the near future, there are some great benefits of trying the Ava Bracelet.

It gives you a lot of information on when your most fertile time is, and that information alone can help you to increase your chances of conceiving much faster than otherwise.

Whilst it won’t work for every woman, for a woman who has a regular cycle and wants to learn about her fertility and the way her body is working, the Ava Bracelet is an interesting purchase to make.

Do you 100% need it? No, but if you want it, that’s a personal choice!

There is no harm in trying this bracelet and it won’t affect your health in any detrimental way, provided you are not wearing a pacemaker.

If you do wear a pacemaker, do not attempt to try this bracelet.

At the end of the day, it’s up to you whether you want to spend this amount of money on an ovulation and fertility tracker.

But if other methods haven’t worked that well for you in the past, this might just be the tracker which gives you the vital information you need.
